About
J.R. Hutchinson is a retired law enforcement officer who served his hometown of Hernando County, Florida for over 25 years. He concluded his career as a Special Operations Division Commander, holding the rank of Captain, after working in nearly every facet of his organization. Throughout his service, he remained deeply committed to his community—especially to those facing mental health challenges.
In the midst of a demanding career serving others, J.R. picked up a camera as a way to decompress and process the weight of the work. What began as a personal outlet evolved into a deeper pursuit of reflection, discipline, and intentional living.
His commitment to service did not end with his retirement. J.R. has continued to volunteer with multiple non-profit organizations and founded Absolute Intent, a grassroots initiative and personal case study designed to hold himself accountable to living life with purpose and clarity.
He is the host of the Absolute Intent podcast and blog, where he shares lessons, perspectives, and principles centered on living an intentional life—grounded in faith, strengthened by discipline, and driven by service.
Today, J.R. also serves his community as a Realtor, helping individuals and families step into new chapters of their lives with confidence and direction.
