During a recent Trash Trek, I noticed roof work being done on Chocachatti Elementary School in Hernando County, Florida. In front of the school was a wood sign displayed that talked about how the project was funded by the half cent sales tax.
I found it interesting. There have been many times I’ve wondered where and how that tax money was spent. A quick search on the Hernando County School District’s website revealed a list of projects and FAQ about the half cent sales tax. If you’ve ever wondered about where your tax dollars are spent, take a little time and research it. I’m stoked the kids at Chocachatti are getting a new roof on their school.
